Precarious Passage in the Cohutta 100 Race

Race Updates:

Cannondale Factory Racing's JEREMIAH BISHOP is leading a Cohutta 100 / Big Frog 65 riders clinic and autograph session at 12:00 noon Friday April 23. Riders will have the chance to preview ride some of the more technical sections of the course and get insider tips on how to have a great race experience. Autographs and question and answer session will begin at 2:00 at the race check in. Bring a chair.

SORBA / IMBA will be at the Cohutta 100 / Big Frog 65 this year. If you need to renew your membership or purchase one for the first time...now is your chance.  Our friends at Trek/ GF are offering great incentives to join or renew at the race.

More Race Information:

1. All NUE rules apply. Helmets are mandatory. Basic aid at designated stations is allowed. No vehicles on the course.

2. The race course is marked with yellow tape, cones, and arrow signs. Race volunteers will direct the flow of traffic at key wilderness points. Maps are included in your race packet.

3. Ocoee Whitewater Center is open to the public. Please watch for bystanders and be aware of service vehicles on fire service roads. Hikers also may be present, especially on the Big Frog loop of the 65-mile event.

4. The awards ceremony for the 100-mile Cohutta will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the registration pavilion. The awards ceremony for the 65-mile Big Frog Race will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the registration pavilion. Food will be served near the finish line for all racers. Non-participants who wish to eat can do so for a $5 fee. Extra meals should be purchased at check-in on Friday.

5. Spectators must stay off of the race course. Aid stations 2,3 and 6 can be accessed by vehicle without getting on the race course.  We are allowing spectators and support at these stations as long as it is within N.U.E. rules. This will be marshaled. Directions to these stations will be available at check in. Again, no unauthorized vehicles of any kind are allowed on the race course.

6. Best places to eat before the event are Blue Ridge, Georgia or Cleveland, Tennessee. There are a few mom and pop eateries in Ducktown, Tenn. and MacKaysville, GA/ Copperhill, Tenn. See Lodging & Amenities link for more detailed suggestions.
Pasta will be served at the pavilion starting at 6:00pm.

7. We all are most fortunate to enjoy access to this unique Cohutta-100 Race Course. With that access comes responsibility: if you pack something in, you pack it out. In order for us to keep this race going we must show respect for the land we use by returning it to pristine order when the race is finished. It is each visitor’s responsibility to police their own litter. Please help us keep the forest clean.

8. Be cautious! In this mountainous, forested area we cannot control dogs, bears, insects or weather.

9. We hope you have a wonderful time at the Cohutta 100 and Big Frog 65 Mile. Our goal is to produce a safe and fun event for everyone.

We hope your experience is that, and more. Good Luck, riders!
