A WINNING STORY – KEVIN SCOGGINS AGAINST THE ODDS

Kevin Scoggins - Tatoo on leg says relentlessI'm a 5 year cancer survivor. In July 2005 I was diagnosed with non-hodgkins follicular lymphoma. Which is cancer of the lymph system and bone marrow. I Have been through chemo twice, and been in  remission twice. At the current time my cancer is back but considered low grade. I refer to it as MY cancer, because I have it! It DOES NOT  have me! I started mtn biking in the spring of '06 after completing 6 months of chemo, and I can honestly say that "MTN BIKING SAVED MY LIFE". I use mtn biking as my escape, my coping mecanisme, my drug of choice! I would like to prove to the world that cancer is not a death sentance, its just more of a reason to live! Not only can you be alive with cancer but you can also THRIVE with cancer! I believe that no matter what you are facing, you have to face it head on. Having and living with cancer has made me realize that everyday is a beautiful day! My view on life is "Life is not meant to be a journey to the grave arriving in a well preserved body, but to COME SLIDING IN SIDEWAYS, 10 MINUTES LATE, COMPLETELY USED UP, SCREAMING WHAT A FREAKING RIDE  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

My motto in life is BE RELENTLESS, and thats what I intend to do!
